Now I'm not the kind of person to complain about things that are in my responsibility like academics and so-forth because regardless of the teachers, you are the one that determines whether you pass or fail.

With that said, UT was one of the most dreadful things I've ever come across. I have to rank it lower than FAMU. The school is filled with international and Northern students from the main states: massachusettes, new jersey, new york, and pennsylvania. honestly, check the license plates. They are all a bunch of rich, spoiled kids that have theyre parents pay for them to attend here, like someone said below me, to carry on their family business. As a ex-biology student, i remember even a biology teacher telling me that they wanted to leave because the school is a liberal arts college who could care less about the science department. The school makes its hard earn money by prostituting the school to tourist. One of the buildings they spent couple millions on was a center for faith and values, who do you think thats for? if you said tourists, you answered correctly. Now, im not going to knock UT down for trying to make the campus look more appealing cause visitors do rake in cash but when you build facilities that have nothing to do with the students and a run down shack called walker hall for 100 students to squeeze into with the restrooms old and run down, YOURE WASTING MY MONEY! I see UT becoming a tourist attraction like disney world than a academic place for higher learning. just give it a few more years and you can quote me on that. The administration and financial aid are pretty nice and helpful but the price$$$ is so not worth my major since my major isnt the liberal-ness that the school advertises. I had to become a part-time student to even receive a financial aid refund! where public school students get refunds like its the usual! As a liberal arts college, i've seen bigger art museums and facilities at other schools.

Now UT's 100-acre campus could be a great and bad thing. for one, one drive around in a circle and youre done. thats it. youve seen UT. That size is community college size! and thats not so exciting so you get pretty bored on campus with a bunch of smokers choking up the oxygen in places theyre not suppose to smoke. The city of tampa is crap with a bunch of bad housing and homeless people. What i find funny is that they advertise downtown tampa but on your next tour visit, drive around downtown. its pathetic.

Now the good thing about UT's size is that you can get one on one talking with your professor which is amazing compared to schools like UF (2000-acres, 50,000 students) which i read that you'll normally see like 10 students who dont understand the material coming into the office with you, so i see why they get annoyed and dont care. The professors at UT are really helpful, concerned, and do want to see you succeed and encourage you to come to their office (i mean, the schools small so they do get lonely i can imagine).but thats just about it thats exciting about UT are the professors and administration (until you tell them youre transferring). Also, the students are nice, no one is obnoxious or snooty, everyones nice and easy to talk to and humble.

Im transferring after this semester and im glad i get to not be in much debt as the stubborn students who are breaking their parents banks. I could have transferred to USF, which is the big dog and noticeable thing about tampa, not UT. i had the same person ask me twice the same question: what school do you go to? cause UT's size and no reputation is overcome by USF's (1,900+ acres, 47,000+ students) enthusiam, good price, top ranked in florida and in the nation, public research university. not to mention their football team has been making strides, so student life is great compared to UT. so UT, who?
