Very small school on the river in Charleston,WV. The surrounding city is ok, there are lots of restaurants and stores, but much outdoor stuff like ski resorts, climbing spots, or big known cities near by. Professors are very hard to get a hold of considering it is a small school. There is never anything to do on campus during the week. Everyone is from WV and go home to their parents or significant others every weekend, so the only people left on campus are athletes and out of state and out of the country students who are left with nothing to do because the school does not plan anything for the weekends, they seem to mainly rely on their sports teams as entertainment for their other students. One good thing for the weekends is that there are clubs near by to go too, but that gets old. Also there is transportation, but the guys is really creepy and never around. I had the flu last year and they said I would have to wait 4 hours to go to the doctors. So I told them I would call 911 and have an ambulance bring me. Also they are very un-informative. When students return for Spring, lots of students have left the school, leaving some students without a room mate and then when they had the whole break to inform students they wait 2 weeks into the new semester when students are already settled to tell them they need to move in with someone else or they will have to pay double for the room. This school advertise them selves as on the move because they have built a new building and have all these plans, but they have all these new fees they brought up my second semester. They told us that the new building and parking garage was built based on funds from donors, but then they sent us letters saying that students need to pay for parking and tickets so that they can pay for the building. Talk about a dean who is full of shit. I hope this review shows you the stresses that not only I indured, but other students that still attend there dealt with and still deal with this money hungry school.
