Major: Sociology (This Major's Salary over time)
SUNY Potsdam is a beautiful campus with friendly people. I have only been attending this college for less than one semester. However, I already feel that choosing SUNY Potsdam has not been a bad decision.

Classes: I truly enjoy all of my courses. I am taking Intro to Sociology, Idea and Image, Foundations of Drawing I, and Women and Gender Studies I. Even though some of my classes are huge lectures, my professors already know me by name. The professors do their best to engage us in the material during class, and they are all very accessible outside of class. The workload is not overwhelming but it remains challenging. The materials we are exploring are interesting and frequently relate to my life.

Food: I know this is very important for food lovers like myself. I like the food here. There are 3 main eateries on campus: Barrington Student Union Dining Court, Lehman Dining Center, and Becky's Place. Barrington has many options; there is a grill that serves hot wraps and sandwiches, a deli, a noodle place (makes any noodle dish you want on the spot), a Italian food place, a grill that serves burgers and fries, and a place that serves American Home style foods. Lehman is the more tradition all-you-can-eat cafeteria with many options, including an asian stir fry place. And Becky's place has sandwiches, pizza, noodles, a grill, and much more. I must say these are all delish. I have not been even close to bored with the food yet.

Dorms: I live in Bowman South. It is loud. BUT, it is an all-freshman dorm. I have heard that Draime and Knowles are less loud. Bowman West and East are going to be beautifully renovated and open to Freshman next year. Overall, no dorms are perfect, but it is not too bad. The rooms are large enough and the RAs try to hold some fun activities.

People: The people here are very diverse (not racially, sadly). They come from different parts of the state bringing many different views to the classroom. Most people are nice and down to earth.

Social Life: I do not drink or smoke. Many people choose to party at the Frat houses on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. But, these houses are all off campus which makes it available but unnecessary to attend. I still have fun on the weekends without attending these parties. Almost every Friday and Saturday night there is an interesting/ fun event. I am definitely not bored here.

The town: I come from NYC, so needless to say, this town seems small to me. However, I enjoy eating at the restaurants and seeing movies at the Roxy. There is a Walmart in very distant walking distance (about a 3 minute drive). You can find things to do. Clarkson is right near by too!

Come to SUNY Potsdam if you want attention from professors and a small close knit community. Definitely come for a tour and an interview. This will not only help your chances of being accepted, but it will also help you understand if SUNY Potsdam is the right fit for you.

Hope this helps! Thanks for taking the time to read my input! :)
