Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm a second year mechanical engineering student looking at a long road ahead of me. Truthfully, what I have to look forward to is misery. There will be long nights filled of work, work, and more work. And I'm not sure if it's going to be worth it yet.

see, the problem is that I don't want to become an engineer. I'd much rather be a music ed major, but I'm at cooper because it is free.

If you want to become an engineer, then cooper is for you. The classes are tough, like nothing you would encounter at any other university, trust me. But it is worth it because you will come out of computer the best engineer that you could possibly be. Plus, you will be able to handle the work. All it takes is some good time management and the work will get done, trust me again. it may take some planning, but you can get through without any true all nighters and an alright GPA. I can't promise for later years, but you can get through freshman.

You can have a social life, but again it comes down to time management. If you can get through your work without procrastinating, then you'll be able to see your friends. There is much work, and there will be times when you have to sacrifice going to a party to get your lab done, but there is a price on everything.

I will admit that some people at cooper are socially awkward, but you can make the best of it. There are other schools around, such as NYU, that you can find friends, though from experience I can tell you that you'll find close friends at cooper too.

But I cannot stress this enough: manage your time well. Procrastination is not your friend.

In all cooper is a great school, but know that you want to go there. I will finish my days here in misery only because I don't want to be an engineer. Otherwise, I can handle the work, stress, and somewhat lack of sunlight.
