Last year in high school I visited this website religiously and always found myself a bit discouraged when I would see negative comments. My advice: IGNORE THEM! This school is hands down one of the greatest places on earth. Professors treat you like an adult and do not bother with busy work like my friends at other schools have. The campus is gorgeous, you can not find ONE piece of trash anywhere, its unbelievable. You work hard and go to classes, and then reward yourself with a nice day laying out at the pool - year round! Now that's something not everyone can do. As for the comments about UM being cliquey and resembling high school - I can say this: if you weren't a partyer in high school and plan on coming here to do so - you are going to stick out. These are the people posting negative comments. If partying is not your thing however, you would be very surprised at the amount of down to earth people who do not go out all the time. Almost everyone here knows when it is time to party and time to work - its not all fun and games. I have met amazing people so far and listening to their stories really opened my eyes about the world. I love this place, but there's a reason we don't make Princeton Review's Top Party School list - it's because we'll have careers after this unlike kids at those schools on the 6 year plan. I love it here and never want to leave!
