SHU is a small, personalized environment where ambitious students can meet with success - the PT and nursing programs are challenging, and the business school is also a stellar program and the John Welch College of Business carries a lot of prestige and has helped many of our graduates secure good jobs. The alumni is very supportive and helps with internships. If you are looking for a large university with a big party life/town then SHU is probably not going to meet that picture. However, if you are seeking an excellent education, in a small intimate setting with small class sizes, nice people, good social life if you are outgoing and enjoy the small town of Fairfield and the nearby beach, helpful and educated professors, and dorms that are very nice, then SHU may be the place for you. As a high achieving high school and college student athlete, I can honestly say I have enjoyed the two years here and continue to meet great friends and professors. The staff and professors are available and truly care about your success. Also, the Division 1 sports are excellent if you are a player, or just like to watch a good game - the school spirit runs throughout the campus, and for a small school continues to attract top athletes and students. The Pitt Center is a nice place to work out and watch a game…come see for yourself..SHU is a great place to go to college - come and visit, talk to the students, meet some of the professors and decide if it is the place for you. It's been a wonderful experience here…
