They don't call them Canal Nazis for nothing… You have to be a certain type of person to succeed here… If you are considering attending MMA you really have to do a self analysis. I attended MMA because of the promise of a good career in the Maritime industry. I did not graduate and for a good reason they drove me absolutely insane.

Admissions will tell you a bunch of bull about life here trying to get you to sign up. Do not believe it. The student body is for the most part extremely depressed. Life sucks here. If you are looking to explore your individuality in pursuing higher education DO NOT go here. There is extreme indoctrination and intimidation is the rule. They turn average kids into judgmental, close minded, aggressive, narcissists.

If you have problems and are looking to get away from it, this is NOT the place. Your problems are amplified by the regimental culture and any mistake will be punished. You have to fit a mold here… Independent thought is squelched, emotional intelligence denied and mental health destroyed.

Granted if you are the type success is possible, if you are a normal young adult this is not for you. Instead of getting in debt and eventually leaving with no degree or license go somewhere and DO RESEARCH on what you want and what is best FOR YOU. What works for someone else might not work for you and even if you want to succeed and do your best there is a chance you will not. CHOOSE CAREFULLY.

I went here thinking i was ready and fit for a regimented system and left a shadow of my former self and almost died from being here.

Do not believe that this school is better than other schools. Do not listen to your parents. Listen to your heart and think of your future.

I ended up in a very dark place and scarred forever… THINK ABOUT IT. If you want to risk that then by all means go without thinking. believe me this school isn't for everyone it isn't for MOST people. To succeed here be prepared to sacrifice more of yourself than you might think you ever could.

My career now… Retail as a bagger and I am thankful for that. I get a social security check every month for 400 dollars thanks, in part, to MMA. I have almost defaulted on the debt accrued here. The stress here triggered a horrible mental illness that affects me to this day five years later… The abuse I suffered I will never forget. They tell you in the military that they destroy you and build you back up better than ever that did not happen to me. I am now a very dark, bitter and resentful person. If you want to know more than email me.

responseHonestly. i think you couldnt deal and youre blaming the system. just because you couldnt deal and quit on yourself, doesnt mean you have to fill high school kids heads with false fears and false facts, shitting all over the school. i honestly hope that every single person, including your mother, that reads your bull can see through it and recognize that you are simply a weak individual.
responseWere you coddled as a kid? A little discipline created a mental illness? Please, I served 4 years in the navy and can't wait to attend MMA, this will be a cakewalk.
responseYour mistake sir, was failure to recognize that the MMA educational experience was not a good fit for you early on and transferring to a more traditional university. MMA is NOT for everyone. But for those who can thrive in an environment of structure and dicipline, they will be rewarded with an education to be proud of, life long friends and a rewarding career.
You sound like a typical underachieving youth that wants a handout.
