Major: Anthropology (This Major's Salary over time)
I applied to 13 schools, and got in to every single one. I came from 10 hours away to Pittsburgh, so I didn't know a single person before coming to school here. Pitt was kind of a haphazard decision, and I was pretty worried I wouldn't like it. But honestly, the first day I was here for orientation, I was positive I made the right decision. Pitt kept us more informed and involved over the summer/through orientation than most of my friends at other "better" universities. I immediately made tons of friends and felt comfortable here. Take advantage of the freshman programs office and office of experiential learning!! Because Pitt is a big school, you can easily slide by simply going to about 50 percent of your classes and doing nothing else but fulfilling a major. But if you want more out of your education than that, Pitt has every opportunity you could ever want. Oakland is cool too, but let's be honest..it's really not that safe. Don't go anywhere by yourself at night, especially if you're a girl. Even with a group of girls, guys are pretty gross towards us in Oakland, but we've never felt seriously uncomfortable or in danger. I LOVE Pitt overall though, this was one of the best decisions I ever made.
