I'm a freshman at Iona and I absolutely love it. It is definitely NOT a party school, but you can find tons to do on the weekend. When people come to Iona expecting activities and parties to be thrown at them- that is OBVIOUSLY not the case. You need to find your niche, and find your fun. Things are not going to be thrown at your face. I found a great group of friends, and have fun every weekend. We go to local frat parties, Fordham bars, NYC, and parties around New Rochelle. Quite contrary to popular beleif, my friends and I have NEVER been to the local bars or Specs, so dispite what half of these comments say, people DON'T do that every weekend. Yes, there are a bunch of "guidos" and "C" level people, but there are also A+ people as well. It all depends what YOU make of it. I love Iona. I love the people, I love the faculty who is always up for helping you, I love the area, and I love how excited people are about the sports games. It provides you with such a family like vibe. The dorms are amazing and everyone gets their own bathroom. I recommend Iona, but if you want things to just be given to you on a silver platter, then it may not be the school for you. But it was definitely for me, and my group of friends would agree 100%.
