OBU was a wonderful experience!! The professors genuinely care about the students…not just academically, but they care for students as individuals. My education in the Biblical Studies Department and in Speech Communication was both challenging and interesting. I was well-prepared for my field when I left. I was also in Ouachita Singers and the music department is second to none in excellence! Never have I heard or been a part of such an exemplary program. I am currently in a Philharmonic Chorus directed by a world-renowned director and if I'm honest, I think my choral education/refinement under the direction of Dr. Fuller was challenged at a much higher caliber than it is now.

The campus is beautifully maintained and is constantly receiving updates. And congratulations to OBU on being named by U.S. News and World Report as the No. 1 Regional College in the South four years in a row…as well as being among the top rankings in

! (Okay…that was a shameless little plug in case prospective students are reading this! Can you tell I love my Alma Mater!?!)

The memories I made there were the best of my life and I'm so sad that it went by so quickly. It felt like perpetual summer camp because you ate, played, studied, and roomed with your best friends! Arkadelphia is a small, safe town with a charming downtown area. While there's not too much to do in Arkadelphia itself, Lake DeGray is 10 minutes away, the mountains are 45 minutes away, Hot Springs is 40 minutes away and Little Rock is one hour away…definitely lots to do on the weekend! It worked just fine anyway because college students do not have any money so it didn't matter that I didn't have a place to blow my cash. I just enjoyed camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, canouing, tubing, etc. Not to mention the fun that we had swing dancing almost every weekend at the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs! Sometimes, we'd go to Benton to Jerry Van Dyke's—an ice cream shop with karaoke! So much fun! On campus: the guys would play frisbee golf, we could float the river, sled into the ravine when it snowed, go diving at "The Rockhouse", sometimes we'd hike up to "The Bluff" and watch meteor showers or roast hot dogs and make s'mores over a campfire. There is definitely a lot of fun memories to be made if you look for them!

Overall, OBU was the best choice I ever made (other than choosing to follow the Lord and marrying my husband, of course!)!
