When I received my acceptance letter, I was truly overjoyed to be going to Emerson. I thought I would live among liberal, intelligent, and friendly people. However, when I arrived I learned differently. For one, the food in the DH (Dining Hall) sucks. It looks questionable at times. The DH is not a very clean place. Rats have been spotted. However, the DH staff is wonderful, friendly, and hilarious. The best food you can find is in the Paramount Cafe. Their burgers and sweet potato fries are to die for!!!

Dr. West loves to boast about how great Communication majors are and how hard he works to ensure that the school is the best on-campus. LIES!!! For a communication school, Emerson fails to communicate well. As a PoliComm major, I felt far from challenged. I don't want to say I felt like I was in high school, because my high school classes were more rigorous than the ones at Emerson. Also, my high school teachers treated us like adults, not children. The professors are too lenient and accepting of excuses. I wrote papers that did not deserve A's, but that's what I got. My WR101 professor was a grad student (this is the case for most people taking WR101), so you're pretty much paying $45, 000 to be taught by someone who doesn't even have a Master's degree. I did not learn one thing here at Emerson.

There are people here that are funny, genuine, friendly and intelligent. Sadly, they are out-numbered by the arrogant, two-faced idiots. This is not a party school, so if you like to party Harvard, MIT and BU are the places to go.

I felt safe on-campus, but that's because I made smart choices such as not walking through the Boston Common or Public Gardens at night.

This a school for smokers and people who do not believe in academics. So, if that's you, then Emerson is the college for you. Also, the financial aid sucks! The people here think they're liberal, but they really aren't. In fact, they probably don't know what being a liberal means. They believe that being pro-gay and pro-Obama makes them liberal, but it doesn't. There are positives in being an Emersonian, but there are more negatives. By the way, orientation is awesome. After an amazing orientation week, it goes down hill.
