Don't go to this school. Every year they try to get students to drop out. I have four classes left. Just last week a the head of my department told me that I should drop out of school and go work in a shop because I can't make it to class on time. One minute late does not equal absent.

Every single term there is one professor that is on a power trip and I always have to take it up with the dean. The Dean is pretty good about taking care of problems.

To effectively use the administration, you need to be able to pull politics. This means rules and regulations, not crying and wining. If you want to get something done make it as hard on the administration as possible. They don't want to do more work so they make a couple of calls and get you out of their hair.
