Major: Philosophy (This Major's Salary over time)
The Cathedral of Learning is one of the most wonderful buildings I'have ever seen. Having class there inspires and made me want to be not just a good student, but also a good person! Visit it if you can!The area around the Cathedral is fantastic, with a lot of green, trees and open spaces (there's also the Carnegie Library, very elegant inside, besides Hillman, though it's public, so it closes at 5pm)The dept of Philosophy is ranked 4th in the nation.TAs in the Philosophy dept are extremely good students for the reason above, and you'll get a very fine education, superior to that of - probably - any other dept at the university. The dept of Classics is very very small. There are 2 sophomores right now studying both Greek (beyond introductory courses) and Latin, all the other students major in the non-based- on- languages track, so you get the attention that is normally given to students in a small liberal arts college.
