Everyone on this site is so bitter because they didn't like this school, and looking around campus its easy to see the few people that would go on this site and complain like crazy, because they are the type of people who just do not know how to adjust to college...

Here we go...wagner college...

Wagner has perhaps the most beautiful campus I have ever seen.  It is an oasis on staten island, and for that reason, one would never know they are on perhaps one of the worst places in the NE (besides a few guitos on campus that are in the TKE fraternity, but as long as you laugh at them, and realize how ridiculous they are, they don't bother you...its pretty great, these few kids take facebook pictures of themselves with lipgloss on and gell spiked hair, with no shirt...w/e...anyways...as I was saying the campus is soo beautiful, and expanding and improving everyday!  The oval is great in the summer to play disk, soccer, or just hang out, and in the winter the campus looks amazing, and just walking to class is a thrill...really!  And Im a male strait student saying this!

Academics: Pretty good, as a chem student with a minor in politics, I am really enjoying the majority of my classes...I have had some amazing science professors (richardson, allaudin) that are passionate and really understand what they are talking about.  My gov classes are also very good.  Although many on this site say that the future here isn't bright, they are wrong.  In fact, a big reason why I am here is because of my uncle and brother's success.  My Uncle is currently a multimillionaire after graduating Wagner business (1956), and brother (2007) is studying at George Washington Medical School after graduating with a chem degree from Wagner (his girlfriend, also a Wagner grad (2008), is also studying at GW Med.  I currently have my eyes set on Law school, with a focus on social medicine.  My success here has been great (4.0 over my first three semesters), but it comes with a lot of work.  While others are out drinking, a lot of nights I have to force myself to stay in and study.

People on this site constantly complain about teachers not being able to speak English or that “the teachers do not know anything.” The problem is, these complainers are too close minded to accept a foreigner as a teacher, and are so prejudice to not even give them a chance to share their knowledge!  Every teacher, minus 2 in my 4 semesters here have been great, and everyone I have been able to understand completely and I have had many teachers of different nationalities (Russian, English, Chinese, Indian).  The problem is, many of these negative reviewers either do not strive to succeed or do not understand the material, and so as a scapegoat they blame the teacher and mark them as an “idiot.” All in all, the academics have been great so far...challenging, but not too overwhelming to not have a social life...(btw of course the people on this site say the work is too easy...they are business majors or theater majors taking easy gen ed requirement classes!  100 levels!  THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE EASY!).

Social life: Good, not great, but enough.  If your emo, sulking, or do not have a job to pay for entertainment, it may not be great here.  Otherwise, its rather fun, and I have had some of the best and most entertaining nights of my life at Wagner.  People complain about the city being too far?  If we were any closer there wouldn't be room for a campus!  Look at NYU, no nice campus like Wagner, and Fordham takes just as long to get to downtown Manhattan with metro north.  Best part is its free!  and the boat ride is nice (timing it on your way back from the city is a bit annoying tho)for site seeing, and pregaming with some “ferry beers” before a game, concert or bar.  I love Wagner's location, in the city when you want, out of it when you want.  I am constantly finding things to do in the city...concerts (all the best bands stop in nyc...if I didn't go here I would miss all the MSG, webster hall etc shows!.  Plus there are soo many sporting events to go to...the Ranger games are a blast, and of course there is always Devils, Knicks, Giants, Yanks and Mets games to get to!

Drinking: Decent amount at Wagner, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are the big nights, leaving Friday to spend at a bar in the city (have a fake or be 21 for the city bars, but Staten island underage drinking is a joke, every bar lets you in).  The bars around campus are low class but fun for college students...some are walkable and local, others are a 5 min taxi ride away.  Most have special nights with free beer, so it is easy to budget while having fun.  The bars can get old tho, so its good to go to new places in the city, or stay on campus and party in the dorms.  BTW drinking in the dorms is also easy and fun, and one can usually find a pong game on their floor.  Just be careful to balance your social and academic time, some get caught up in it, and end up complaining about how bad their education was on a site like this.  The social scene can get expensive, but like me, getting an on campus job for spending money was easy.

The girls are for the most part pretty hott...some are stuck up NJ, LI or SI girls, but as a upstater, the girls are much better looking then at home.

Student Body: Decent, people are not lieing when they say there are a lot of gays.  They can get annoying when they dance around the caf or are singing in the dorms, but by sophomore year they all move in to Guild (which is like the gay, anti social, substance free dorm/emo dorm, so you don't see them as much).  Just ignore them and realize that their fun will end soon after they don't make it in theater, and will soon be waiting tables at dennys (thats another thing, everyone on this site complains because they did not get a job after when their major is theater and music...NO KIDDING!  ITS LIKE WINNING THE LOTTERY TO MAKE IT ANYWHERE IN THOSE FIELDS...gotta know someone, be amazing, or get lucky).  The frats are existence but stupid, though its fun to use them for their beer and party rooms.  The sport teams all suck as far are rankings, but are generally nice kids.  As a member of the Club Wagner Ice Hockey, I have made some awesome friends, and before I joined the team I made some great friends that are similar to me (strait, non jocks, academic striving, but like to party).  The baseball teams is cool, and the basketball team too, but the lax kids are pretty dumb and annoying, besides a few.  All in all, its easy to make friends here, even if your not gay or a jock, so don't listen to what people say, they were probably just losers who sulked in their room, instead of hitting the bars, playing intramural (wicked intense), or hanging out with friends.

Dorms: Kinda old, but good for partying because nothing can get destroyed.  The new building is really nice (almost like a Residence Inn), but Towers is fun for socializing and the typical college experience.  The view from harberview (freshman dorm) is an amazing shot of the city skyline.

Food: OK...getting better...the hawks nest is not bad, the caf is not great, but I can always find something good to eat.  Not good but not bad.

Bills: expensive, but with good grades out of highschool, most get a massive scholarship that pays half the tuition!

Damn this is long, but overall, I love Wagner...I hate going home, and always can't wait to get back when I leave.  My friends that visit love it too when they visit, and are all jealous I go to school here!  They visit from upstate all the time!  Don't listen to the few people that bash it here, the people that like it are just too busy to give a good review!  Go here, make the most of your experience, and Wagner is a great choice.
