I transferred to Drexel after 2 years of community college getting gen ed classes out of the way. I was extremely excited to be attending, as the orientation that I had gone to was very informative and they made it seem like Drexel actually gave a crap about their students.

Boy, was I wrong. I attended for 2.5 years and I wish I could take that time back. The tuition is outrageously expensive and when they say they won't raise it, they are lying. They raised it $2,000 my last year there. The buildings are old and badly in need of repair, with the exception of the new gym and any building dedicated to engineering classes.

I had a few fantastic teachers but for the most part, they were either completely absorbed in their own self importance or just out of college and acting as adjunct professors(which is not what I'm paying 38k a year for!). God help you if you need to talk to any administration. My academic adviser was extremely helpful and kind but every other admin I dealt with (financial aid, secretaries, bursars office, etc) was rude and unhelpful.

In the end, I didn't even get the Drexel degree that I had worked for 2.5 years for. I received a letter telling me that my "class completion rate" was below the minimum and that my scholarship was being pulled. Apparently you can't drop a certain number of classes without it affecting your "class completion rate". Information that would have been beneficial to have at the START of my Drexel career. So, with a GPA of 3.5, my academic scholarship was taken from me and I would have to pay the difference to continue there. By the time they sent this letter out to me, I had two weeks to come up with $13,500. Yeah, sorry not going to happen. I withdrew from the college, two quarters away from graduating.

I did all the paperwork necessary to withdraw, had it processed, and am STILL getting billed for the spring 2011 semester. Which means yet another trip to the administration. Oh joy.

Avoid this school like the plague. I could have gone to a state school and saved $60k in student loans.
