If you are looking for a great time in college with lots of friends and friendly people, Fort Lewis College is NOT the place. The whole school is like a competition to see who can be the most outdoorsy. If you can't ski powder or ride a mountain bike then people look down on you and they simply just don't want to hang out. I get judged all the time for the clothes I wear and my ability to do different outdoor activities. Even the faculty will judge you at some point, especially in the Outdoor Pursuits program and at the Student Life Center.

It gets boring and frankly depressing sitting in your dark dorm room because it takes 3 weeks for the housing maintenance staff to fix the light bulb. Also, if you live in the apartments, be prepared for a lot of violence. I have seen numerous episodes of domestic violence and other types of fights.
