The Berklee College of Music

My classes were great. The teachers were fun, and for the most part, very willing to help. Most of them became my friends. I learned a lot. And the testing process placed me in classes with the perfect balance of challenge and comfort.

But as for the social aspect of the school…I literally found nothing to do that didn't include drinking, sex, etc. I had to go to Boston University for a social life. I joined a club there and went to events on occasion. It was incredibly difficult to be a Christian in Berklee's dangerous/partying atmosphere.

Dorms: I lived in 150 Mass Ave. There were 3 drug dealers on my floor (whom I knew personally), and the RA's did nothing about it. In fact, I'm pretty sure the RA's were buying from these dealers. Also, we had a huge mice problem in the building. The food in the caf was awful. There were constantly sirens going off at night from local hospitals/fire departments. It was not a good situation.

Before attending Berklee, I read the reviews on this website and ignored the bad ones. I thought I would be able to make a good life for myself. I am an optimistic person. But this was not the case. If you have high values/morals, are a hard-working student, and want to feel safe in general, DO NOT attend Berklee.
