The good things about MSM are that it is a beautiful campus which as the result of being in the middle of now where is safe Another great thing about the University is the professors, they challenge you to think critically, and will always assist you if you need it.

The downsides are MANY!

1) The COST! This school cost you \(SRF:ELEMENTS:5xsrf\), but yet I have to pay $2,400 out of pocket, and take out $10,000 in Stafford loans. Whereas my brother who went to a public university has to pay nothing out of pocket and has tuition covered by grants.

2) The registrars office is completely disrespectful and quite incompetent. Another lure they have is by offering you free books if you complete an associate degree. I did and sent my transcripts and had verification from the Community College (letter saying I was eligible for graduation) I attended that I had completed one. Yet they wouldn't give me one saying that they needed further proof (stamp saying I graduated on my transcript). The Community College I attended said until they print out and mail the associates degree the stamp won't be put on the transcripts. Nevertheless school started and I didn't have any books after receiving my associate degree I went in to show them that I had indeed graduated and the degree was my proof, they still did not budge. So I sent in the transcripts as soon as it had the stamp on it saying I had indeed graduated. Nevertheless books that I was entitled to on the first day of classes I didn't receive till the third week of classes.

3) The student body is made up of mostly 'rich kids', I find it extremely difficult to relate to ANYONE. This school is SMALL and being so it is like a high school cliche. The student body consist of either rich kids, die hard catholics, white people, jocks on full scholarship. The kids come from mostly privileged backgrounds. I find myself studying by my self every day in the library, this isn't what I expected from my 'college experience'. Whereas when attending community college I found it extremely easy to talk to others, and make friends. The mount is a completely different story.

I will end by giving you some simple and straightforward advice. If college is an experience you want to grow intellectually , be able to afford (without working two jobs), make different types of friends from different backgrounds. THAN DO NOT COME AND ATTEND THE MOUNT
