Many people who try to discredit the negative comments say things like well if you get out or get involved you will love it. However, I'm usually twice as active as them being in multiple clubs and playing a sport. There are a mix of nice people who actually want to learn and rich kids their on Mommy and Daddy's dime there to kill as much of their liver and brains as possible. Maintenance is awful my room smells like mold and me and my roommate have actually been making it smell better, surprising since our hockey equipment and rugby stuff are in the room and the bathroom is constantly a horror scene. Drugs are rampant I personal could care less but it is something to note. Parties start off strong but die out. The low moment of my stay here is a snow day that they shut down the shuttle service and everywhere food is available on campus, effectively leaving no source of food available to students unless they want to walk over a mile in a blizzard. The school had me in love from tours and such but upon meeting faculty and seeing how poorly kept the school is I realized I should have listened to my parents so I wouldn't have to be going the the transfer process now. I didn't want busy work but I would have liked an assignment here and there so my grade isn't entirely reliant on tests. High school was so much harder for me but they actually prepared me for test so I didn't hate it. I do know some people who are still absolutely in love with the school but there is a surprisingly high amount of people who want to leave for many reasons and besides the one person I heard say there are too many people from Alaska they are all valid. SHU wasn't a fit for me because they I realized I could pay for two years at a state school for the same price as a year and get a better education there or pay less for four years at a community college than I do at a semester here and get an equal or better. You aren't a person to the faculty they will often treat you pompously and not do as they say they will,Example:my psych teacher took 4 weeks to get a scantron back to the class. Positives are hard to find but the trainer is pretty hot and the basketball team was fun to watch.
