I am a transfer student in my Junior year. So far I have no complaints about the university other than I am very concern with the recent cuts. Next year, 2013, the university will be facing a 24% lost in its budget. I understand many universities are undergoing the same.As far as the university itself, as long as you do the work that it expected, get involved in campus life, maintain a good relationship with your professors and take advantage of the opportunities at hand you should have a pretty pleasant experience. However, if you ARE looking for a university focused on partying this may not be the campus for you. The university is pretty calm and the area is not related to any night life. Night life is mainly at the down town area of McAllen, 17th street.
