Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
First of all, the only reason i came here was because it was close and cheap, what a mistake i made. I have had bad experiences with this school and i have not learned anything valuable so far. The faculty in the art department are nice and helpful, and the ratio from professor to student is quite low,but there are moments when you wonder if they really even care. I had to speak with my academic advisor to register for my classes, and sign up to get into the art program. He didn't even let me know that i had to be signed up for the program and when i tried to see him he was always gone. Social life here is pretty much a joke, most people here worry about drinking and partying. I've went to a few frat parties and no one was even sober enough to hold a single conversation with. Most people transfer within a year, which is why the rate of graduation in four years is so low. Another bad aspect is the food facilities. I live in the heart of the campus and the dining hall is almost leading off campus grounds. I have to walk and trample through the snow just for one meal. The hours are horrible too, nothing is consistently open throughout the day except Arbys which can get old. Most meals here require two swipes! The dorms can be very irritating, constant clapping, screaming, yelling, and running around during quiet hours is always happening. Our RA is always gone and doesnt seem to care because he is graduating. Me and my best friend are apart of a political activist group but no one is even interested in politics or just don't care. Each meeting there are a total of 3-4 people, whom of which are seniors working towards their graduation. My advice would be if you are looking for a school that offers reasonable food service hours, houses people who are more open-minded, and gives classes that challenge you artistically then DO NOT CHOOSE YSU! I plan on transferring out of here ASAP!
