Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
ok this is going to be a long one but i hope it helps.

first off my major is in Electronic Media not communication. electronic media is basically tv radio that kind of stuff they just dont have an option for that in the drop menu.

ok to start off the educational quality here is pretty good. i personally have not had to spend all nighters studying or writing an essay even though i have had a few friends do so and i do procrastinate. its not top notch education but you get one. i got into more challenging places but the department for my major is a lot better here so i chose here. teachers are friendly and approachable and will help you out most of the time.

now for the electronic media department. as i said before i chose this school mostly because of it. it has a full studio with three sets and an updated back room for tv. in fact some news stations are not as updated as we are. they go over video and audio editing and really prepare you for what you have to do once you leave. they have several different tv shows that you can join if you are interested and you can also host radio programs. they make you do a semester long internship your senior year which puts you in studios all over from NFL Films to local news stations even paces in NYC and Philly. so if you are looking to go into this major i highly recommend Kutztown.

Now the campus is one of the nicest campuses i have seen in my college search throughout PA NJ and NY and they keep it looking nice mostly because that is their main selling part.the buildings are all newish and a few were just redone in the past couple years.

There are 12 dorms 9 of them are traditional while 2 are suite and one is apartment style(not including the honors dorm) the tradional dorms are set up coed by floor, wing and door and there is one all girls dorm. most of them do not have ac which isnt to bad except in the beginning and end of the year so bring a fan. they keep them up to date and fixed up.

now for the food. most of it sucks. there are three dinning halls on on the south side of campus or the residential and two on the north side of campus or the academic side. the all you can eat one is on the south side and the food isnt bad at first but toward the end of the semesters you really do not want to eat it anymore. on the north side they have better food and even a chick-fil-a which is good but its a walk to get to.

for social life. i would consider this a party school just because there is really nothing else to do. the school is located in the middle of nowhere and if you do not have access to a car it gets really boring and if you can get a car its a good half hour drive to get anywhere fun except dorney park which is more of a 15min drive. the cops are uptight only on the first couple weeks and around holidays like st pattys day and halloween but usually wont bother you unless you are really drunk and need help. the parties are mostly in peoples basements but they can be fun. the school tries to get things to do and in the beginning of the year do but then it slows down. so you usually hang out on campus or in the dorms worth your friends. it is a dry campus so even if you are 21 you cant drink on campus so sneak your stuff in and hide it well.

now the people here are nice and you will make a lot of friends. do people leave for the weekend yes. but there are still a lot of people on campus. i live in north jersey so its a 2 hr drive for me to go home so i dont and i still find stuff to do and a lot of people stay on campus. if it is a long weekend however it will get really empty and there will really be nothing to do. so it kinda sucks then. but you make a lot of good friends and you can have fun if you try. get involved in clubs and intermurals and other activities and you will meet a lot more people and have a lot more fun trust me. so that is my view on kutztown both the good and bad and i hope it helps.
