The campus is absolutely beautiful. Other students can be friendly, but the local people who live in New Orleans are much friendlier. There are a lot of students from the East Coast who seem a bit snotty and are at Tulane to party. That doesn't mean that they aren't also smart, but those types did tend to skip class and get lower grades more often. As far as the city of New Orleans is concerned, I would give it an A+. There are lots of things to do, and it is very easy for Tulane students to get to the French Quarter; the Streetcar stops literally right in front of campus. The freshmen dorms are mostly horrible - small rooms and a lot of childish vandalism going on. The area surrounding Tulane - the Garden District - is very beautiful, and Magazine Street is within walking distance and there is a lot to do there. As for classes, mine were hit-and-miss. I had some that were very interesting with passionate professors who graded fairly. I also had some that were extremely boring and in which I didn't really learn much at all, with average professors who graded unfairly. Overall, my experience at Tulane was very good, and New Orleans is definitely one of America's best cities. I enjoyed my time there.
