I am from Turkey. I have a BS in computer too. I have just got my acceptance from GGU's Information Technology Management,MS . As a future employee in technology world I want to know that, the attitudes of managers toward employees who have MS from GGU, is that really that bad. after this long education life, working without respect from managers must be hard. do you suggest getting a master degree from GGU? If you do not,I have to think about all over again. |
Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I received my BS in Computer Science at Cal State Hayward and worked as a Java Developer after that. After that, I went to GGU to get my MS in Database Development and Admin (no longer offered by the school). After I get my MS, I got a job as a Oracle DBA in another company and got paid twice (6 figure job til now) than working as Java Developer. I learned a lot going to GGU despite what people say. It's a good school as far I'm concerned. Nevertheless, managers/directors I worked with do not respect Cal State System and GGU schools. They state,"What's the point of going to school if you're not going to Harvard, UC Berkeley, or Standford.?" They disrespect me and my education so I went to find another job with respectable management. Now, I'm working for DoD with a GS13 salary (I got salary points having education and experience).
