STCC as an educational institution is great. The student body on the other hand is horrible. If you came here to learn, please expect that you are walking into 13th grade. The number of special needs students have skyrocketed, the number of people attending has skyrocketed, and the violence has skyrocketed. In the past two years there have been two stabbings on campus, and we have not been notified until HOURS later. The professors are great, helpful, and genuinely care about the students. You will run into "hard" professors (a.k.a professor that actually want you to learn the subject) and then you will run into easy professors (ones that will let you pick your own exam questions.) If you have another option…take it. The student body here is very judgmental, harsh, and ignorant. In one of my classes there was a student with a brain injury that a majority of students would make fun of. Seriously guys? The funny thing was she did better than them on the exams. You will run into kids who are desperate to fit in and talk back to professors, cliques, etc. I'm out of this school and I will never recommend this place to anyone. In some of my classes I felt like I was in 2nd grade.
