Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
I was an MBA candidate in the Towson/UB MBA program. I am a dental specialist with a Post doctoral degree in dentisty and and 10 years experience as a professional educator. As such I feel qualified to evaluate my instructor in Finance 504 who was completely unprepared to teach our class. I was embarrassed for him as I watched him struggle in the classroom, unable to solve the assigned homework problems on the blackboard.(A lesson plan and a little prior preparation for the class would have gone a long way). The instructor was certainly bright enough to be effective, but I believe the problem was that he was just not prepared. Hardly in the same league as the professional and exceptional educators I experienced at Towson. While the classroom experience was disappointing, the response I got from the department chairman was unacceptable. Dr.Ford was dismissive and condescending, and the prevailing attitude of the administration was of indifference, disinterest, and denial that there was any problem. Save your money. Buy the textbook and teach yourself, or go to Towson or Loyola. My experience was a painful waste of money. Unlike the Law School which embraces their students, the Merrick School of Business has a lot to learn about customer satisfaction. Tell your friends to stay away.
