Wake Forest is a place you're either going to love or despise.

Academics: I've been pretty pleased with them for the most part. All of my professors have been quite personable and welcome students to come and talk to them after hours. Classes are small, too—with the exception of 1 class, all of my classes have been less than 22 or so students. Professors know you by name and will absolutely notice if you're not coming to class. As for the students? Not bad. People are fairly intelligent for the most part, although I do think some students stopped studying and doing work as soon as they got admitted into here. I guess you'll have the boneheads wherever you go, though.

Aesthetics/Campus Upkeep: Wake Forest is undeniably a nice place, and they do their best to keep things looking nice. The dorms can get somewhat disgusting, but overall, things are spic-'n-span.

Social life: This is what I hate, and why I've applied for transfer. If you conform, if you're into dressing up, if you're well-off, if you're into partying every weekend, if you're into who's-doing-what, if you're into casual hook-ups, if you want Greek life to have a huge presence on campus (almost half the campus is a member), then this place is for you.

I'm not saying those things are bad, either; they're just not me. The problem is, Wake is a bastion of homogeneity, so finding people who -aren't- like that can be tough. In retrospect, this school was a terrible fit for me. I'm a shy nonconformist who goes to the beat of my own drummer, and that really isn't the type of person who should be going here. I hold no ill will towards Wake; it's just a place that only some people will like.
