Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
This school is the epitome of upper-middle class superiority. Everywhere you look, everyone is wearing the same thing. The girls all wear ugg boots, the boys all wear basketball jerseys, 9/10 people are wearing jeans. The vast majority of Marquette students are cliquey, self-absorbed, selfish, close-minded, needy, and complainy when they aren't surrounded by other people. This population reminds me of a bunch of seventh graders. They'll bully their way to social approval. They text and shop for bras in class. They're extremely materialistic. They love sports. They rarely leave their dorms. Their almost NEVER go off campus, unless it is to some Fraternity or Sorrority party. They don't care about social justice, they just broadcast it so they can attract students and put on an image of caring. NOT TRUE at all. The city of Milwaukee, especially the middle and lower classes, have a very negative opinion of the people at this school. Students are portrayed as rich, spoiled, and un-empathetic.Despite how negative all this sounds - this place still is probably an ideal setting for people who have spent their lives captivated by the pitiful social struggles of American Suburbia. Even better if you're from the suburbs of Chicago - you'll fit right in. About 50% of this schools' population hails from the suburbs of one of America's coolest cities. But do they have the Chicago attitude? No way. They are much too simple, unaccepting, and foolish. If you like mainstream music, MTV, video games, watching ESPN 24 hours a day, and cafeteria food, this is the place for you. If you like the outdoors, have an interest in politics, enjoy exploring and using your creativity, avoid this place like the plague. Trust me, if you're at all an open-minded person, you're going to be incredibly frustrated with this self-glorifying institution.
