Know what you want to get out of Georgia Tech before investing time and money here, and having your spirits broken when your grades start going down and you lose the motivation to work, because no matter what you do, your grades just don't get better. If you just want a normal college experience, just a degree so that you get on with your life and get a 50k+ job, there are thousands of ways to do so. One of those ways might be better for you than Georgia Tech. Only go here if you want letters of recommendation from well-known and respected professors (no guarantee you will get them), and you love academics intrinsically. Seriously, what is so special with Georgia Tech to choose it over other colleges, besides the "name" of some its faculty? You can study, grow and be successful in another environment, or some other way, and without spending a ton of your parents' money or taking loans. Look at your end goal carefully before choosing Tech. Lots of the campus is crumbling and old, don't expect really clean lecture halls in some parts of campus. The toilets may seem unclean at times. After the first year, one is permitted to stay off campus.
