I loved Oneonta. There are positives and negatives of course. Yes, some of the kids there were shockingly stupid. I think thats true of a lot of college aged kids nowadays. But for the bright ones who wanted to learn, there was a lot of opportunity to do so. I had very few professors that I didn't like. Maybe 2 or 3 in four years. There was too much drinking/partying, true. Again, I think its true of all campuses. From what I observed when graduating in '06 and what I have heard since, the school is much more competitive now and a lot more well regarded. They have made efforts to really improve.
