Hi! I've been admitted into the BS Biology program, can you tell me which branch of Rutgers have you been taking classes from? Is it the Camden campus? |
Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
Well the school is like 10 to 15 min away from me, so the convenience is a plus. Although the biology department is not as established as the other ones, it is certainly advancing quite well. If you are a pro active student and keep in touch with the advisors, they will certainly help you. Constant emails are sent out regarding new research opportunities and job opportunities for bio students…I've received a part-time job at a hospital that I have been holding for the past 2 yrs because of the department. If you are a bio major, you will also be taking classes at Rutgers, which isn't so bad, but just be careful when it comes time to registering for classes…getting your classes, while they are already filled up with the "real" Rutgers students becomes a hassle. However, NJIT is now starting to offer more of its own bio courses. In regards to the classes outside my major (e.g.,history, humanities), I actually found them enlightening. Every school has their fair share of bad professors, but if you find the right ones by asking around or looking them up, you won't be disappointed. They understand that this is a heavily based science and math school, so they ease up with the workload/grading.I'll be graduating in 2 weeks, and looking back, the experience has been pleasant.
