What people fail to realize about Central is that it isn't the only college where people party. Partying does not define Central. Some people may be dissatisfied with students they have encountered here, but to me those students are the ones who don't apply themselves and don't care to do well. Most of the students I've had annoyances with were the freshmen that acted as if they were still in high school. I have met tons of insanely brilliant people at Central. Though Mt. Pleasant itself isn't as exciting as East Lansing or Ann Arbor, the university does all it can to provide fun activities throughout the year. With festivals, shows, random activities, and student group sponsored events. It's hard not to find something to do on campus. It all really depends on attitudes and how much effort you put in here. The people that complain about Central's education obviously have never taken any of their classes seriously and failed due to their own decision. If Central was really a horrible school, why would it be ranked in the top 10 schools of all of Michigan and in the top 5 largest campuses in all of Michigan? Even with the roommates from hell, I have loved every minute I've spent at Central. It really is a great college with very friendly people (but usually only upper classmen), great educators and programs, and a wonderful learning environment. The people that complain about Central have never tried to get involved when they were on campus.
