Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
Some of the faculty at this school are excellent, but that can be slightly bogged down by the fact that there are a few professors that are absolutely horrid and some of these professors may be ones that you must take, depending on your major. Most of the student body consists of the same demographic of white, rich kids, which can leave some others feeling left out in some cases. This definitely makes it so that life at the university is extremely different from life in the real world - it is a bit like an extension of high school, honestly. The students are very lazy and do not tend to take classes very seriously. If you are the type to work hard and become extremely proficient at what you are going to do in life, then keep in mind that the average student is not like that at Monmouth (though there are, once again, exceptions - especially in the more math or science-oriented majors).Overall, I know now that I would probably not come back here and I probably would have transferred out already if it was not too late, but this school is actually a good fit for certain people. If you just want to go to college to hang out and have a good time and still have a chance at a decent job (or just do not need one because of rich parents), then this is the place for you, which is completely fine for some people. For those people that get stuck with it like me, just put in the extra work you need outside of class and you can still have several opportunities once you are out, because no matter how much you hate the place, your success is still what you make of it.
