McDaniel College is a very pretty campus, in a hick town in Carrol County maryland. Because the school is so old the majority of the building are falling apart. If you come to take a tour ask to be shown the boys freshmen dorms, not just the girls. Thats right separate dorms too for freshman year.

The majority of the student body are white conservative christians. Non-approved speech is disallowed on campus, and nearly all political speech is not approved. Should you go through the trouble of setting up your own club or student group, the adminstration will do its best to strangle you with paperwork. If you attempt to go to the office of student egagement for help, you will probably find it empty.

The college is good if you have a lot of money and are planning to move off campus. Otherwise the schools private security is granted the right to harass and monitor you for the next four years. So yes, if you like being treated like a child in a police state, please come to McD. If you are interested in a liberal arts education and expanding your horizens, then please don't come here and bitch about how it didn't live up to expectations.

Do you think this is pretty common on all college campuses? In this day in age, any political club or arrangement will be accompanied by paper work to ensure that the college has covered themselves of any or all liability. If you do not like it, you can thank all the political correctness police who feel the need to insert themselves into every single issue.
