Major: Religion/Religious (This Major's Salary over time)
This school is a Bible school meant to build up missionaries and pastors. Therefore, it should be judged based on that premise. Having said that, this school was absolutely stifling when it came to any innovative thought or creativity. Most of the professors, minus a few of my urban ministry classes, and jewish literature class, just wanted us to spit back information exactly the way they wanted it. If I ever made a question about why something was, or challenged other students to see a different perspective, I was quickly shot down and ostracized for thinking differently. For a school that is supposed to be built with Christ's heart at the center of it's purpose, I felt only dry religion. I heard only arrogant theology debates, and people being judged and mistreated. When a gay student came out to the community, he was shamed and cut off. This school, in my humble opinion, does not live up to the standards of the Gospel. The people here pick and choose which sins are greater and which ones to tolerate. I came to this school excited about missions, it left me only questioning my faith and damaged.
