I've had an interesting experience here. First of all, this school is not a very nice place to live. I became suicidal one year after attending. Which is not surprising since a girl committed suicide after only being here for like two weeks.

I feel completely cheated. Where is my money going?

I'm paying the full 43,000 to have crappy food that is available at incredibly inconvenient times! There is NO FOOD AVAILABLE during times it is closed. It is open for breakfast from 7-9 and then lunch 11:30-2:00 and dinner, 4:30 till 7:00. Who eats dinner at 4:30 in the afternoon?

And dont count on the "cyber cafe" on campus. Multiple times I've had my munch money disappear because the employees swipe it four times thinking it didn't work. I'm a good student, good with math and I keep accurate records of the money I have left. Unless that cookie cost 7.00 dollars I have such and such money left. I've also had multiple times where they lost my order and I waited for half an hour for a meal that was never coming. Fast food my bum!

It is unreliable, and a joke. AS is blinkie and especially security.

During the snowy season, my friend was stuck in the parking lot where she could get hit by another car easily. She called them to ask for help in getting her car unstuck. They told her that it wasn't their job and hung up on her. She then called her mother and they said they would come. Two hours later my friend, who is 5'1 and about 90 pounds, finally got her car unstuck, but missed her classes as a result. Security NEVER CAME.

One more thing on security. Saint Marys takes pride in its admirable security and how safe the girls are on the campus. But a girl got knifed this semester, another one raped last semester and there have been various degrees of sexual assault in between to Saint Marys students.

Also, another one of my friends failed chemistry last semester. Instead of helping her, the teacher said she had a learning disability and instructed her to seek professional help. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL IS THAT TO HAVE HAPPEN AT A COLLEGE YOU ARE PAYING 40,000 A YEAR FOR??! Keep note that ALL the science departments at SMC are being reworked because so many people ARE failing their courses. So I think it was a little more the curriculum than my friend's "learning disability".

ANOTHER friend went to the IT department to get a connection for her laptop to hook up to the wireless internet. She told Kathy Haussman( The IT Director) That she had a desktop back in her room but that she wanted to get internet on both. Immediately my friend was accused of trafficking illegal music, and for no reason Kathy was demanding her huge desktop be carried in for inspection. NOT ONLY THIS but my friend neatly laid the papers outside the building, as she had no intention of returning for help from this nasty lady, and the dean of faculty told her that this was a big deal that she left the papers there for someone to find and bring them back inside to be used. That it could have serious repercussions and that it was very rude. What is more rude, leaving the papers there and leaving politely, after being yelled at by a lady whose meal ticket your paying for, or yelling back at her and telling her to keep her f***ing papers?

I must agree with the last negative comment here. SAINT MARYS IS CORRUPT.

ALL of my teachers picked favorites. One of my teachers even admitted that she didn't read our assigned papers because she said she already knew what we all were getting. So with out reading my paper, she gave me a D-? That makes a lot of sense…

Their financial aid department is a huge problem.

I pay in full, I have no problems. But my friend went in and was missing 4,000 that was in her original financial aid package. Where did that money go?

Also financial aid advised her to look into scholarships since the tuition will be increasing in previous years by 5 percent. She talked to several trustee board members who assured her it would only increase by AT MOST 2 or 3 percent. But this spring it was released to be going up by 4.75 percent. Im a science student so I'm not big into rounding but 4.75 looks an awful lot like 5 percent to me.

P.S Im transferring and my friends and I have both had problems with SMC sending our transcripts. I've had to request to get mine sent THREE TIMES and I was just notified AGAIN that my college STILL HAS NOT BEEN SENT AND IT COST 2 DOLLARS TO SEND A TRANSCRIPT.

SOMETHING PATHETIC: SMC has thier own squad of telemarketers called the "Phoneahton" That basically calls random people and asks them to donate money to the college. I'm pretty sure people donate based on the college's reputation, not how nicely you can ask them…

All this college cares about is money. They charge you for everything. Last year there was a paint chip in my room and they charged 250 dollars to fix it. Since when does a paint chip cost that much?

SOMETHING LAME: Even though you are paying the meal ticket of every employee there, they all still treat you like dirt. But when your parents come around, they are sweet and nice. Can you say two-faced?

One more thing, The girls at saint marys spread vicious rumors, so watch out if you plan to attend. There is nothing else to talk about so this is a place where much gossip takes place.

My advice:Don't go here.

I had the grades and scored to get into Notre Dame and I didn't because I didn't think I was ready for a large University. But Please take my advice as someone who knows, everyone who goes into this college is running for their life to get out. Your professors say that your grades do not matter, it is what you learned that counts. BUT IF MY GRADES DON'T REFLECT WHAT I've LEARNED HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET A JOB AFTER COLLEGE??!
