i like to first say this. i did not plan on coming here, but it was my only school i applied at and got in too… every parent and child's dream is to go off to college and challenge themselves for better future . at ship, i did not see much of anything in that order. classes are structured poorly and where most professors like to chat about the subject then rather teach it to the student. i found that tuff, when you have to go to the learning center to learn what your professors supposed to teach you. the teachers do not give a shit if you learn it or not as long as they keep getting a pay check the'll just talk about the subject rather then teach it. here kid go read chapters 3,5,7,3, and tell me what it is all about, i thoughts what we are paying them for? the school itself is very run down, and i'm very concerned of the asbestos floating around in these old old dorms. the open house was a dog and pony show to get me to lower my sense of security and win me over, but the truth of the matter is they only wanted me to see what they want me to see. it was not till 1 month in did i see how the school is run. i call it jackass education. the school puts on a big seminar on drugs and alcohol for the students and parents. trying to let parents know that your daughter or son is safe here, but in the end drugs and alcohol ran ramped. school just closed its eyes and let kids do as they wanted or to somebody got hurt. security did not even check on the dorms or walk around campus after dark ( 3 rapes ) last year. the school pushes that under the table. the food is leftovers middle of the semester. it seems that after mom and dads check clears the bank the school tallies up all the fall income and distributes to the teachers 401k and health benefits while us students do not see much of our investment. just take a look at the campus and ask yourself after paying all these taxes ( state taxers) why hasn't this school remolded all the buildings and dorms ???? few teaches were ok but from what i heard and seen they do not do much teaching only talk about the subject and expect you to teach yourself. that what i call jackass education. the social life on campus is poor. most kids go home friday-sunday. the ones who stay drink and do drugs most on campus and off. school says it is a dry campus, lol yeah right. kids walking dorm halls with mixed drinks in their hands. kids passing out in the bath stalls, too kids rioting on Richland Ave., at the beginning of the semester. i almost forgot that there was a block party that got canceled. it seems that at ship you pay \(20 all you can drink on a certain block. i was told this was a tradition for longtime. it is not safe to walk alone at night, girls told me they have been chased by drunk boys in groups. rumors of sexual assaults last year. SRF:ELEMENTS:17xsrfi think for SRF:ELEMENTS:5xsrf\)$ signs in parents eyes and they are not educators of the future. all that is a bullshit.

4. NO ACTIVITES THAT ARE ENJOYABLE FOR STUDENTS

5. NO ART DEPARTMENT

6. NO RESTAURANT COOKED FOOD

7. NO ELEVATORS / ONLY IN CURTAIN BUILDINGS

8. GYM IS OVER CROWNED.

9. NO SCHOOL SPIRIT/ MOST OF THE TIME ALL SPORT EVETS ARE EMPTY.

10. NO SENCE OF TRADITION HERE

11. BIGGEST THING IS THE STAFF. / THE LOCAL STAFF HERE ACTS SO RUDE TO US, LIKE IT IS OUR FAULTS FOR WHY THEY ARE SERVANTS TO COLLEGE STUDENTS, WHEN IN FACT THEY SHOULD ALL BY GRATEFUL FOR US COMING HERE AND OUR PARENTS GIVING THEIR HARD EARN MONEY, SO THEY ALL COULD MAKE PAYMENT ON THEIR DOUBLEWIDE TRAILERS.
