MCPHS (Boston campus) is a very academic institution. It's hard to find a place in the school where students aren't buried in their books/notes. That being said, the pro of this is that you are in a very academic atmosphere which can promote and encourage your own studying. The con is that if you are someone who is looking for a very social atmosphere, this is probably not the place to be. While the city has plenty of places to hang out, the campus itself does not have much social activity. If you are willing to go a little off campus for activity, then this won't be a problem.

Something people should know about the school: it is easier to get in than it is to stay. Since MCPHS has a reputation for accepting almost anyone that applies, there is a misconception that it is an easy school. Completely false. After one year, there are people who are already frustrated with the school and are making plans to transfer.

Advice: be prepared for a bit of a challenge. Personally, I went to a competitive high school, so the switch to the course load at MCPHS was not at all difficult. If you know you went to a relatively easy high school, I don't discourage going to MCPHS, but just be prepared to make big adjustments. Lectures are about 250 people, and paying attention and taking personalized notes are crucial.
