HWS is like a giant prep school.  The majority went there or to a private school of some sort.  If you went to prep school and didn't have a positive experience you most likely won't enjoy it here.  If you went to an average prep school and not one full of rich snobby kids, you will be shocked at how many you encounter here.

It is frustrating to run into fellow students who are there because they can afford the high tuition bill as opposed to being a good athlete or student.  The students who deserve to be admitted are some of the brightest and most hardworking you will encounter.  At times it feels like that group is small.

Overall, HWS is what you make of it.  There are nice people to be friends with and also not so nice people, but you'll get that at every school.  The campus is beautiful and the faculty are great and motivated.  I've had great experiences with all of my classes and extracurriculars.

questionDid you take into account that most private schools are filled with 'preppy' kids? Also, don't you think you're being a bit close-minded when you say anyone who is rich is a snob?
