I loved all the people I met at UofT during my two years there and I maintain contact with most of them. Many of the comments that I have seen thus far paint the student population as cliquey and arrogant—I didn't experience this at all. Most of the people I met were smart, nice and very open to people of different backgrounds. However, we were all stessed out 100% of the time to the point of being AFRAID of our classes, professors, and exams. I felt as if every HW assignment/exam I took or turned in was an uphill battle that I could never win. It felt horrible, like your dreams were always being stomped on. I worked VERY hard and never ever got the results I craved or wanted, it was awful.
