If you are only looking for a way to run away from high school, then you probably will not be happy here. Why would you be? We are small, three hours from the nearest cities, and highly focused on rigorous academics. However, if you honestly enjoy academics and you like to spend time with other people who love what they're studying, then Simon's Rock may be a truly wonderful place for you. My experience has been phenomenal, and I would not trade it for anything - I turned down a chance to transfer to an Ivy League school, because I think that much of the education you can get here. It is absolutely true that there are students who do not want to be here or who came for the wrong reason. As unfortunate as that is, though, it does not characterize the campus! Also, FYI, smoking is now limited to a small handful of spots on campus. |

this is not an intellectual mecca. this is really only a way for people to run away for their parents. there are better ways to get out of high school. at least the campus is pretty. it's still tick-infested, though oh, by the way, the campus is surrounded by a cloud of cigarette smoke.
