I attended DU for two years now. I stuck around because I like the city of Denver itself and I found a few close friends and made my own niche. DU has a lot of issues I can not deal with as I have continued my education here. Before you attend you must take into account that the school is sold on selling you by any means. The spend millions of dollars on landscaping, which half the time is "watering the bricks" or on while its raining. Even the present them selves as environmentally sound. They spend millions on gold roofs. They have bs sellers like a no smoking band that no one takes seriously, or should. The education is in my opinion mediocre in comparison to what they make it out to be, some junior ivy school. It is way to expensive and they force you to live in the terrible residence halls for two years to suck even more money. Regardless with how expensive it is they continue to suck every little dime out of you anywhere possible. The health center is charging me 1200 dollars because I forgot to deny their health insurance for one quarter. Speaking of, the quarter system is horrible. You have to take finals and midterms 3 times every year, the classes are crammed into 10 weeks with no full enjoyment or comprehension of the subject matter. The teachers are somewhat helpful, but I can't say I have had many good ones. The school has a confusing registrations process, payment process, basically their whole online system does not make sense. People contradict themselves within the department and especially across departments about everything from what classes you should be taking to who you can even go to get information about this. The school has horrible food. I lost the freshman 15 rather than gained it. On top of all this the school has such a backwards rule system that probably half your friends will get kicked out or suspended based on whatever the university (being private) wants to do at that moment. They will sick the campus safety pigs on you who are the most foolish self important mall cops ever. I could go on and on. Hope this gives someone an idea.
