| I'm
not going to say that UW-L was terrible, but I
certainly wouldn't recommend it either. A large problem with
the school is its small size; which worked against it.
The problem with UW-L being small was that the
options for classes were extremely limited within my major (and
other majors also). Often, it felt like being in
high school, with lack of options. Furthermore, the limited
class options are reflective of the lack of serious research
at the university (with the exception of Exercise or Sports
Science). With ESS (Exercise Sports Science) being such an
important part of the university, there is somewhat of a
jock-heavy elitist sort of attitude. Sadly though, despite having
really good DIII atheletics, there is not a lot of
school spirit. Like I said earlier, UW-L wasn't
terrible, but it certainly didnt have anything to recommend it.
My degree didnt help me get a job in my
field, nor are any of my friends working in their
fields. Overall, UW-L was just a bland, small, and
forgettable school (despite the language on their website). You
really can have better and more worthwhile experience somewhere else.
