I had a WONDERFUL year at SMC. All those negative comments are from people who should not have chosen this school in the first place.

Most people here are friendly and down to earth. Yes, there are some snooty girls here, but they are EVERYWHERE. There are bitchy girls at ND, state schools, ivy leagues, and everywhere inbetween. It's college, you can choose who to hang out with.

This campus is incredibly safe. I have NEVER heard of anyone being attacked on campus. That's because if there is some strange guy walking alone at night on an all girls campus, the campus police would be on him like white on rice. EVERYTHING bad you hear is when SMC girls go over to ND. That is a bigger university with more opprotunities for bad things to happen. Just be safe and use common sense and you shouldn't have a problem.

All the professors I have met have been INCREDIBLY helpful and willing to meet with you during their office hours. And hey, if your professor is a jackass, DEAL WITH IT. This is not preschool. This is life, and you are not going to like everyone that you meet. However, I would say that 95% of the faculy are incredibly knowledgable and truly want you to succeed.

The food is pretty good, but it gets old after a while. Be sure to make a friend who has a car so you can go out to eat to mix it up a little.

As far as the social life goes, theres pretty much two types of girls: girls that go to ND to party and those that don't. If you don't "party" there is a TON to do on and off campus. There are always dorm events to go to as well as movie nights with your friends. For girls that want to meet humans of the opposite sex, ND dorm parties are a great way to go. Most guys are nice and fun and LOVE saint mary's girls. Be sure to make some guy friends to hang out with during football games too.

I would say overall, I am incredibly happy with my decision to chose SMC. It has the perfect blend of academic success, spirituality, and the SMC sisterhood bond, oh yeah, and hott ND guys.
