The moment I stepped foot on campus I knew that Scranton was the place for me. I couldn't see myself anywhere else. I made a great decision to attend Scranton. It has honestly been the best three years of my life. The city of Scranton is poor but once you are on campus you don't even realize you are surrounded by a run down city because the campus is beautiful. Over the course of my three years so far I have seen the city of Scranton improve drastically. over the weekends many students go into the city to the bars or clubs. The city also has it's annual Italian festival and st.Patricks day parade which is a big hit for the students.

The students and faculty are very friendly. I have made great friends and am still to this day meeting new people. I was welcomed with open arms my freshman year and it helped make my transition from high school to college a lot easier. I was placed in an all girls dorm where it was very easy to make friends. Every room would constantly have their doors open and everyone would walk in to say hello. The school did an excellent job matching me with a roommate. We got along great and we have stayed friends as the years go by. In fact she was my roommate for my sophomore year too! ( we got to choose)

The food is excellent. The staff cooks the food right in front of you so it is very fresh. Sometimes there are theme nights such as sushi night where the Asians actually come and make it in front of you. Sometimes the radio station will come and play music during dinner and offer karaoke which is a big hit for the students.

I have always been very happy with my classes. With an exception of one or two professors I have loved all of them. They are all knowledgeable of the topic and make the classes very interesting. Even though I am very quiet in class most of my teachers knew my name the second day of class. They are very approachable and so easy to get in contact with whenever you need help from them. I love their office hours because I get individual attention. I do find the coursework challenging but I have learned a lot. It is great that you get to take classes outside your major. Since you are dedicated to a major most of the time you don't get to take some classes you want to take. Instead you have to follow the general education for that major. What I love is the fact at they require you to take other classes. For example I am a business administration major and I have always wanted to take a psychology class and I was able to do that.

The parties are a lot of fun. Basically any day of the week you can find one. All the parties are in houses in the hill section where upperclassman live. They can get very wild but if you don't want a party there are a couple of bars that are very close and extremely popular. They have great deals too! Yes Scranton is a party school but not everyone likes to party.if you don't like to party the school coordinates games, trips, comedians and concerts on Friday and Saturday nights.

The varsity sports aren't that popular. There usually isn't a big crowd watching the games but if there is a big important game especially for

basketball you will find a bunch of students attend. Intramural sports are very popular and a lot of fun.

Housing sucks though. They have all these beautiful places to live and I always manage to get shut out because there are never any rooms left when it comes to my time to register. I was forced to live off campus in a house my junior year. Even though I am not on campus in live across the street so it feels like I am. Many people feel that living off campus takes you away from the community of the school but I do not find that. Even though I am in a residential area my whole block and my neighbors consists of students in my grade or a grade above me.

I love Scranton and i honestly don't know anybody who doesn't like it here.
