Listen guys. Yes, it's a community college. But it's a community college in the best city in the country. You have practically EVERYTHING you could possibly want academically, socially and culturally at your finger tips. For that reason BMCC is leaps and bounds above most other CCs in the country. Because the campus is located in Manhattan it tends to draw some pretty decent faculty to the school. If you dig on sites like RateMyProfessor.com, you'll be able to choose some pretty great teachers.

I find that those who tend to succeed at BMCC are self starters and seekers. There are soooo many programs and opportunities at BMCC that are designed to help the students throughout their years at the school. You just have to be proactive about your education and search for them. If you just want to coast through school and only come for a grade then you will not get ahead, not only at BMCC but in life. As corny as the saying

Start Here, Go Anywhere
is, it's kinda true…as long as YOU apply yourself!

Also you must consider than the vast majority of the classes were small, no more than 25 students in a class. That's crazy for a school of BMCC's size. I only had one class that met in a lecture hall and even that was only 60 students as opposed to 200+ like some intro classes at NYU are.

So basically, be aware of the opportunities around you and be ACTIVE in your own education. If you don't care to succeed then no one else will.
