I am a '95 alumni. In reading these previous reviews I can see as my intuition told me then, a great university would soon be shifting the focus of its existence to SPORTS! and academics would shift to second place. At the time I attended I was proud to be a part but as the years went by I began to notice a slow creep of indifference in all categories. I did not expect to be spoon fed. I was quite a mature student and not everyone's perfect but lets say I got out of UNM before it took a nose dive. It is no longer the place I attended. These constant tuition increases are a disgrace because you are only supporting the athletic teams! If you are looking for specifics then perhaps the Medical school is still worth it otherwise, I would attend somewhere else. I also went to a satellite of UNM Valencia Campus—lets just say—there isnt enough time or space here. A few examples: Barry Kues, an excellent professor had no time for me even though he liked to express otherwise to his students. I had the huge 1000$ mistake of Mary Lawton for counselor and this woman is allowed to show up with her stomach bared! Anytime I went out of my way on exams I was questioned? They put me through hell and laughter trying to return for a Masters, so I gave up to try Humanities and it was such a bureaucratic nightmare I walked away. A lot of the original professors were leaving when I graduated so if you are looking for something concrete try somewhere else if you need the ticket.
