Major: Pharmacy (This Major's Salary over time)
The school is good and offers a good academic environment with much to do. Overall the school is good but if you're planning to become a pharmacist and are not an NC resident then you need to read this.If you are a out-of-state pre-pharmacy student and desire to get in the pharmacy program you had better do far better than all the North Carolina students. This is a major problem with Campbell and was only discovered as a result of serious investigating.
My dad tried to get a good idea as to my chances of getting in the pharmacy program prior to my enrolling but every administrator provided only vague responses.Upon completion of my first semester I had approx. a 3.45 GPA and still was not getting answers about by chances of getting in the program while a friend of mine a North Carolina native was being told that if she could bring her GPA up to just a 3.0 GPA she would definitely get in the program.
My father didn't like this and felt something was awry. He then smartly called her advisor and asked why are they showing favor to her and not me. The advisor wouldn't admit that there was a double standard for local state residents versus non-state residents but did chime in that I would do better to transfer to Temple University (Philadelphia, PA which is near my home town in Southern New Jersey) than to stay at Campbell if I wanted to get in the full pharmacy program.
That was all I needed to hear.
I left Campbell and then used my NJ Stars Scholarship to attend Rowan. I attended Campbell for only one semester and enjoyed my time there. It was a great environment with lots of friendly people overall but at the same time I am very disappointed that they would play favorites as to who gets in their pharmacy program.
I am going to graduate from Rowan University in December. Compared to Rowan I like Campbell's social environment much more. Campbell did a much better job in keeping alcohol off campus whereas at Rowan it's all over the place. I live at home now and avoid Rowan's campus life. If you are looking for Chistian values which I cherish then choose Campbell but if you are planning on majoring in pharmacy and are not a NC resident then don't go to Campbell. There are students with GPAs like mine (3.8) that don't get in the program.
