I came to ODU as a transfer student and when I came the advisors were not helpful to me at all. I was screamed at for not understanding the class registration process. I was never given a proper introduction to the school. And was just not happy about it. I joined several organizations and attempted to get into the different activities at the school, but felt that the faculty weren't that helpful with students. I would have liked more direction as a transfer student. Now, I have little to no respect for the school and the way they mess up transfer students credits. I had to fight in order to get all my classes the way they should be. Instead of helping me out, I get the run around from every part of the school from my advisor to the registrars office to department heads. No one communicates with one another and no one is helpful at all.

This is exactly my outlook on the experience I have had so far on Old Dominion University. Why does being a transfer student have to be so difficult? I had a very bad experience trying to get started as well. I was yelled at by my advisor for wanting her to lift my block. She kept giving me the run around so I just called and emailed everyone down the line until I got my block lifted. I didn't make friends during this process but I did get my block lifted. If I had to do things over I would NOT choose to put my hard earned money towards this university.
