If you like to have fun the best thing to look forward to at this school is the weekend trip to Amherst. It's a commuter school so come saturday everyone leaves. The Dining Hall is open 11:30 to 1 and 4:30 to 6 on weekends. So if you wanna eat early you're out of luck. The bus from north/east to south is a pain. It takes a funky route through the city because the bridges are temps. Students here are good people and down to earth. You'll get the occasional full of themselves athletes but they are far and few betwen. Commuters generally don't put effort into the ulowell social life so you'll make alot of friends from class you'll never see. Faculty can be unhelpful so remember if you need help with something demand it. You are paying $20,000+ a year so don't let faculty blow you off. If you put the effort in they have no choice but to help you. I just switched to business so my above ratings are directed at gen ed classes. Currently I don't have an opinion of the business faculty. The school truly is the best thing to happen to Lowell since the factory days, they bought the tsongas arena and it's now a beautiful facilty opposed to a dump. Within the next 10 yrs. this school will do wonders for the lowell economy/ community. They are expanding furthermore. Parking is a nightmare. Good luck finding a spot if it's past 9:30. The recreation center is beautiful and can be alot of fun. However a few of the supervisors are a bit snooty. There are way more guys then girls so women get hit on constantly. Some like it, some are uncomfortable with it, people make a bigger deal about it then it really is. The restaurant Suppas is made up to be better then it it is, but it's still decent. Housing is cramped with too many forced triple bedrooms. It is uncomfortable and on that basis alone I would recommend a different school. For me personally, I don't care about any of this. I lived here for a year and have been commuting ever since. I'm satisfied with getting the highly touted degree for a cheap price.
